During the third quarter of 2022, the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the iOS platform in South America showcased distinct trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the data:

Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 81K in late June and peaking at 98K in early September. Despite this, its weekly active users fluctuated slightly but maintained a high volume, starting at approximately 2.5M in late June and closing at around 2.5M by the end of September.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, moving from 41K in late June to around 49K by the end of September. Active user numbers for the app also showed a positive trend, increasing from about 747K in late June to roughly 820K by the end of September.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides maintained a stable download rate throughout the quarter, with figures fluctuating between 21K and 24K. Weekly active users saw a modest increase from around 655K in late June to approximately 678K by the end of September.

Cabify had consistent weekly downloads, starting at 13K in late June and slightly increasing to around 15K by the end of September. Its active users fluctuated but maintained a steady base, starting at about 186K in late June and ending at roughly 181K by the end of September.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus showed varied weekly downloads, beginning at 9K in late June, peaking at 14K in mid-July, and then settling at around 11K by the end of September. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, starting at approximately 156K in late June and slightly increasing to about 172K by the end of September.
